As with almost all David Drake novels, this was a great read. Good characters, lots of action, I read it in one sitting.
I love the Hammer Slammer stories! I own most of the paperbacks, and I am still purchasing the e-books anyway. Great reads of military science fiction.
Loved the back stories for the characters. They save a town and themselves. Drake's writing never disappoints.
Definitely not your standard Slammers novel. Great character development without sacrificing action.
So glad the publisher asked Mr. Drake to add additional material, thus the introduction of the characters. Added something special to the book.
I just didn't like the series of flashbacks as a start. Resolution didn't grow from the story. Believable characters. Four
David Drake can make someone who has not been there see what is going down. I read everything he writes.
